Emails: Sign your name and use proper English

September 15, 2015   Editor: Dave Uphoff
We have been receiving unsigned emails this past month on the school building issue which are not being printed. It is the policy of this web site not to print unsigned letters or emails. If you do not have the courage to put your name on your opinions, don't bother to send them.

In addition to unsigned emails, we are receiving horribly worded letters. Emails that do not use capitalization properly or use short hand words such as 'r' for 'are' or 'u' for 'you', will not be published. And of course, if your letter contains profanity or defamatory references to someone, it will not be printed. Finally, emails typed in all caps will not be printed as it is offensive and impolite.

While this website may not have the influence or importance of the New York Times, we will continue to play our part in halting the dumbing down of America by refusing to publish letters that violate standards of good grammar.

Marion Masek: So your are going to discriminate against people with bad grammer. Because people don't spell well. Also your email doesn't say to put your name, also you can send things anonymously to papers so why not to Minonk Talk. Very upsetting that you are only putting up negative opinions about the single school.

Minonktalk: We have printed letters from people who support a single school. The website plainly states that letters must be signed at the email submission form at http://www.minonktalk.com/webcity/emailadd.aspx.... People who do not use capitals at the beginning of a sentence or who use "u" in place of "you" do not suffer from bad grammar. They are just plain lazy. If you aren't educated enough to know basic grammar you probably don't have enough education to know how to make decisions on important issues.

Marion Masek: Its not lazy you just want to sensor what you want in and out of minonk talk. People do have an education and wether they have an eduaction or not everyone in town has an opinion and it matters wether you think it does or not. If they can vote they can make a decision on the matter wether you like it or not.
