Wilhelm
V. Osterman, 93, of Minonk died at 1 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2005) at
OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Memorial Medical Center, Pontiac.
His
funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Calvert & Froelich Memorial
Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe officiating. Burial
will follow in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be for one
hour before the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul's United Church
of Christ, Minonk.
He
was born Sept. 9, 1911, in Minonk, the son of Valentine and Lena Rients
Osterman. He married Helen S. Stephan on Oct. 20, 1934, in Burlington,
Iowa. She died March 29, 1996.
Surviving
are two sons, Ralph (Carol) Osterman, Edwardsville, and Gary Osterman,
Minonk; two daughters, Margie (Larry) Smith, Gridley, and Joyce (Lou)
Johnson, Peoria; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd; two sisters; and five brothers.
He was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan.
He was a retired cast maker from Caterpillar Mapleton plant.
