Lorraine M. O'Brien, 84 - May 15, 2005

Lorraine M. O'Brien, 84 of 411 N. Walnut St., Minonk, died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday (May 15, 2005) at her residence.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, Father Ray Guthrie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery, Minonk.

Lorraine was born Nov. 2, 1920, at Marseilles, a daughter of Ralph and Sylvia Copp Proctor. She married John J. O'Brien on June 3, 1939, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rutland. He died Dec. 30, 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria (John) McGough, Rutland, and Jannie Herman, Minonk; seven grandchildren, Debbie (Gary) Tooker, Mahomet; Laurie (Doug) Frank, Morton; Vicki O'Brien, Tonica; Jerry (Kim) McGough, Minonk; Trina (Scott) Springer, Belleville; Tricia (Kyle) Steinbach, Crown Point, Ind.; and Tawn Herman, Aurora, Colo. Fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gary O'Brien, and one grandson, Randy O'Brien.

Mrs. O'Brien was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk; the Altar and Rosary Society of her church; and the Minonk VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She attended Rutland schools and was employed at Blocks Cleaners, Minonk.

Memorials may be offered in the form of Masses or to OSF St. James Hospice.
