Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. The Rev. Loretta Hunt will officiate.

Private family committal services will be at Minonk Township Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born April 24, 1918, in Rutland, she was the daughter of Swedish immigrants, Albert and Anna (Holstrom) Halberg. She married John W. Hattan Sr. on Sept. 27, 1947, in Minonk. He died March 2, 1987.

Surviving are a daughter, Sonnie (Mrs. Steve) Moritz of Roanoke; a son, John W. Hattan Jr. of Minonk; six grandchildren; four great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in higher education from Illinois State University.

She taught special education at Woodland High School for 25 years and learning disabilities at Toluca Grade School, Toluca, retiring in 1993.

She attended Minonk United Presbyterian Church.
