Donna J. Cumming, 67 - February 22, 2005

Midland, MI - Beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend, Donna J. Cumming, 67, of Midland, died after a brief illness on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at the MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1938, in Toluca, Ill., daughter of Elmo and Mary Rita Davis. She married Ron Cumming on April 28, 1962, in St. Louis, Mo. They moved to Midland in 1962 where they raised their family. Donna was manager of volunteer services at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland from 1981 to 1997. Prior to her employment, she was very active with the Medical Center Auxiliary serving in variously leadership positions including president from 1977-1978 and earned the distinction of life member. She also held various board positions with the East Central District of the Michigan Association of Healthcare Associations (MAHA).

Surviving in addition to her husband, Ron are her son, Ross of Midland; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Tom Reed of Midland; grandchildren Zachary and Trent Reed; mother Mary Rita Davis of Minonk, Ill.; brother Richard (Maxine) Davis of Lexington, Ill; sister-in-law Patricia Turner of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Elmo Davis; and her brother, Gary Davis.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place Sunday, March 6, 2005, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion hall, 7111 Hedgewood Dr. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a charity of their choice.

The Smith-Miner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
