Sheila R. Zivney, 51 - January 29, 2008

Sheila R. Zivney, 51, of 403 W. Church St., Lovington, formerly of Minonk, died at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 29, 2008) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Benson, with the Rev. William Hecht officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church and one hour before the service at the church Saturday. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. She was born May 2, 1956, in Peoria, daughter of Warren and Shirley Redenius Missey. She married Joseph Zivney on Dec. 5, 1981, in Benson. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Deniah Missey, Decatur; two sons, Shane Missey (fiance, Molly), Nashville, Tenn., and Chris Zivney, Minonk; her parents, Warren and Shirley Missey, Benson; her maternal grandmother, Louise Redenius, Benson; five grandchildren, Samantha, Trevor, Dylon, Keagan and Zachariah; three sisters, Wendy Elliott, Georgetown, Ky.; Vickie Missey, Benson; and Peggy (Dan) Sciarini, Winter Springs, Fla.; one brother, Terry Missey, Magnolia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, paternal grandparents, and one nephew.

Sheila was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Benson, where she had served as a Lutheran League sponsor for a number of years. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and she also volunteered as an election judge for many years.
