Anna Wypeski, 98, of Minonk died at 12:35 p.m. Friday (July 24, 2009) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with the Rev. Daniel Tuhy officiating. Burial will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church. Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church.
Anna was born Nov. 10, 1910, in rural Minonk, the daughter of Henry and Caroline Schneider Block. She married Frank S. Wypeski on June 29, 1934, in East Peoria. He died Jan. 16, 1997.
Surviving are two nieces, Donis Klein of Minonk and Evon Meierhofer of El Paso; one nephew, Cary Block of Rutland; and many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family in the area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Anna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk and was a member of the W.E.L.C.A. ladies group and taught Sunday school at the church for many years. She had worked as a sales clerk for Kurrle's department store in Minonk for many years. Anna was a Christian lady who enjoyed time with her family.
