Obituary: Ruth Wilson, 88 - July 12, 2017
Ruth Wilson, formerly of Washington, died peacefully July 12, 2017, in York, S.C. She was 88 years old.

Ruth was born April 2, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., to Folkert "Bud" and Dorothy Sutton Broers. Ruth lived in Minonk, until she married Ted Wilson in 1953. He died in 1967.

Surviving are her children, Joel (Valerie) Wilson, Smithfield, Va.; Fred (Chris) Wilson, Clover, S.C.; and Maria Wilson, Spartanburg, S.C. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nikki Wilson, Dublin, Ohio; Heather Bush, Cherokee Village, Ark.; Thadd (Kristan) Wilson and Kathryn Logue, Spartanburg, S.C.; Brittany Wilson and Taylor Wilson, Clemson, S.C.; and Victoria Wilson, Clover, S.C. Ruth had five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Zimmerman, LeRoy, and Jeanette Broers, East Peoria, and brother-in-law, Allen (Debbie) Wilson, Michigan.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her twin sister, Margaret Elaine, who died in infancy; and her grandson, Trevor Logue.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, attending church and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her famous potato salad was a favorite of many.

Ruth was a giver, a caretaker and her love for her family was beyond measure. She will be sorely missed by those that were blessed enough to love and be loved by her.

A graveside service was Tuesday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Morton.
