Sophia M. “Sue” Weber, 96, of Minonk died Saturday (May 30, 2009) at Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church, Minonk. Burial will follow in Dana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1912, in Minonk, the daughter of Frederick W. and Emma Klesath Hesselberth. She married Raymond William Weber on Nov. 30, 1933. He died May 16, 1961.

Surviving are three sons, Ray (Sally) Weber, Long Point; Glen Weber, Knoxville, Tenn.; and Stanley (Janice) Weber, rural Minonk; two daughters, Carol (Randy) Weiland, Canton; and Jane Ulrich, Eureka; 11 grandchildren, Wayne (Colleen) Weber, Sara (Greg) Sparkman, Greg Weber, Tom (Brenda) Weber, John (Marla) Weber, Karen (Andy) Conrad, Jay Weiland, Kim (Bob) Gordon, Kelly (Matt) Hoff, Clayton Ulrich and Grace Ulrich; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Albert and Wilfred, a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Weber, and two granddaughters, Leslie and Ramona Weber.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. She also was a member of the Young at Heart Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be warmly remembered by all who knew her.
