Elizabeth A. Turner, 94 - January 02, 2010

Elizabeth A. Turner, 94, Mattoon, formerly of Minonk, died at 11:08 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 2, 2010) at Douglas Care & Rehab Center, Mattoon.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk, with Father Luke Poczworowski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Elizabeth was born June 3, 1915, in Streator, the daughter of Steven and Ann Visoky. She married George J. Turner on Oct. 3, 1936, in Chicago. He died July 19, 1996.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Witek, Warrenville; four grandchildren, Deborah (Christopher) Thoren, Tracy (Steven) Moore, Robert (Chris) Cooper and Amy (Ronald) Ramos; and eight great-grandchildren, Sarah Thoren, Adam Moore, Jacob Moore, Elaine Cooper, Megan Cooper, Lakin Cooper, Anthony Ramos and Holly Ramos.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Elaine Cooper; three brothers; seven sisters; and a great-grandson, Samuel Moore.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk.
