Ronald J. Stalter, 68, Minonk, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 4, 2008) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

There will be a private family memorial service. Cremation rites will be accorded. Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Manor, Minonk, or the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, Peoria.

He was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Bloomington, the son of Ollie and Ella Becker Stalter. He married Sharon A. Park on June 24, 1961, in Minonk.

She survives along with three sons, Scott, Pontiac; Todd (Sherry), Minonk; and Brian (Sarah), Michigan City, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Mandy, Michael and Mikalie Stalter; Shantel and Travis Stalter; and Alycia and Jordan Stalter; and four great-grandchildren, Kobe, Kloee, Lilly and Anthony.

Also surviving are a stepsister, Donna Grove, and stepbrother, Bud (Sharon) Yordy, both of Flanagan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Orval Yordy.

Ronald was a graduate of Flanagan High School. He was a member of UAW 974 and had retired from Caterpillar in Peoria after 30 years. Ronald also owned and operated Stalter Stump Removal Service in Minonk.
