A celebration of life service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Community bible fellowship church, El Paso.  Rev. Wes Ooms will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until time of services at the church on Monday.  Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso is handling arrangements.

Bob was born June 21, 1931 at rural Minonk a son of Eilert and Louise Cassens Rients. He married Margery L. Janssen on April 10, 1974 at Minonk. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Susan Rients, Tampa,FL; two sons, Robbie (Mary) Rients, Utica, and Greg (Ann) Rients, Greencourt,SC; two step sons, Eric (Kristy) Janssen and Todd (Lynette) Janssen both of Minonk; a sister, Margaret Woltzen, Long Point; a brother, Kenneth Rients, Minonk; six grandchildren, Dirk Rients, Seth Rients, Zach Janssen, Tyler Janssen, Abby Janssen and Sammie DeRosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob farmed in the Minonk area for over 40 years and was most recently employed by Martin Equipment in Goodfield. He had previously been employed by the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department as a part time Deputy Sheriff.

He was a member of Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso.  He served with the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Minonk VFW, Minonk Lions Club, and served as a trustee for Minonk Township for 20 years. He also was a Republican Precinct Committeeman.
