Barbara J. Springer, 78, Minonk, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 10, 2011) at Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan, where she was a resident.

Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Home or OSF Hospice.

She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Freeport, a daughter of Herbert and Ermadel Clevenger Fisher.

Surviving are two daughters, Maribeth Springer, Minonk, and Becky Petta, Bloomington; one son, Tony (Mary) Petta, El Paso; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and two sisters.

Barbara owned and operated Korner Kafe in Minonk. She enjoyed playing cards and watching NBA basketball. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
