Ruth M. Spencer, 72, of Minonk, IL passed away at 5:00p.m. on Sunday, September 6 , 2009 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

She was born on September 6 , 1937 in Urbana, IL a daughter of John and Lois Moody Schumacher. She married William Spencer on July 11, 1959 in Clinton, Il. He passed away on November 1, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Spencer; Greg(Jo) Spencer both of Minonk; two daughters, Janet(Don) Korthauer of Naperville; Karen(Keith) Hinthorne of Washington; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Jack(Ileen) Schumacher of Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Ruth was a teacher’s aide at Minonk-Dana- Rutland school district for many years.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk and altar and rosary society.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 11, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk. Father Luke Poczworowski will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk with a rosary at 8 P.M.. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Minonk. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements.
