| Joan Schneider, formerly of Minonk, IL passed away on February 20, 2009 in Phoenix. AZ. Born in St. Paul, MN she graduated from Minonk High School and married Ollie Schneider on May 29, 1943. She spent the next few years living on various Army bases where her husband was stationed during World War II.
After the war, she moved to Minonk where they made their home for the next several years. Subsequent moves found them in Florida, Chicago, California, Memphis, and lastly to Sun Lakes, AZ.
Joan’s love of travel took her throughout the United States, Alaska, and Europe, including a voyage on the QE II, and a visit to the site of the Battle of the Bulge.
Her husband preceded her in death, as did her sister, Malora. Survivors include two sons Raymond of Phoenix, AZ and Richard of Hernando, MS and her brother Albin Johnson, of San Clemente, CA. Also surviving are grandchildren Heidi of Greensboro, NC and Erik of Huntersville, NC and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service in Minonk, IL is pending.
