Joan A. Schneider, 79, Minonk, died at 2:58 p.m. Monday (Sept. 27, 2010) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk, with the Rev. Luke Poczworowski officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church.

She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Minonk, the daughter of Walter and Frances Wypeski Milashoski. She married Dale E. Janssen on June 11, 1954, in Minonk. He died March 11, 1974. She then married Leland F. Schneider on Dec. 28, 1978, in Bloomington. He died Dec. 28, 2004.

Surviving are three children, Jim (Cindy) Janssen, Minonk; Bill (Christine) Janssen, Watseka; and Mary Kipp Janssen, Normal; two stepsons, Donald (Judy) Schneider, Bloomington, and Tom Schneider, Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Mernie Milashoski, both of Minonk; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ann Janssen; two stepdaughters, Teresa and Diane; and two brothers, Robert and William Milashoski.

Joan was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk and worked for GTE for 30 years, retiring in 1978.

She was a loving mom and grandma.
