BLOOMINGTON — Ian Robert Schmitz, 43, of 307 W. Mulberry St., Bloomington, formerly of Streator, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8, 2007) at his home.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Streator, with the Rev. Bryce Hayes and the Rev. Ned Hawbecker officiating. There will be no visitation. Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.

Mr. Schmitz was born July 8, 1964, in Oxford, England, to Robert and Joyce Russell Schmitz.

He had been employed as a computer programmer at a printing company in Bloomington. He attended Streator grade schools and was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1982, and a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University in 1986. He was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church, Streator.

He is survived by his parents, Robert J. and Joyce Schmitz of Streator; and one sister, Aprille Schmitz of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Elsie Russell, and his paternal grandparents, Robert I. and Edna Schmitz.
