Julia V. Romanoski, 94, of Everett, Washington died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (September 25, 2008) at Sunrise View Convalescent Center in Everett. No services are planned. Julia was born July 18, 1914, in Granville, Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Petry Valinski and attended school in Minonk. She married Alderman Bernard J. Romanoski on November 21, 1936 at St Veronica Catholic Church in Chicago and they made their home at 902 Maple Avenue in Minonk. Bernard passed away on May 12, 1972. She married John R. Corless of Oglesby on December 26, 1979. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Roman of Mukilteo, Washington and Bernard J. Romanoski of Olathe, Kansas. She will be deeply missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Slyvester Tauroza; brother Michael Valin; two sisters Helen Voyta and Pauline Valinski; and Robert Corless. Julia was a member of St. Patrick Church, Minonk. She had worked at the Bob Granert Clothing Factory in Minonk, was an accomplished Afghan quilt maker and an avid Chicago Bears Fan.
