Mildred M. “Millie” Redenius, 89, 538 Washington St., Minonk, passed away at 6:45 a.m. June 29, 2011, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Cocoa, Fla.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. The Rev. Ray Barclay will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Brevard County Hospice in Florida.

She was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Eureka, a daughter of Peter and Laura Sauder Householter. Her stepmother was Martha Schrock Householter. She married Ernest A. Redenius on June 9, 1945, in Minonk. He passed away Feb. 26, 2007.

Surviving are one son, Larry (Judy) Redenius, Minonk; one daughter, Linda Schoon Farrington, Cocoa, Fla.; two granddaughters, Heather (Matt) Epps, Cocoa, Fla., and Angela Schoon, Cape Canaveral, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, Reyann Epps, Cocoa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother; one sister, Elsie Watkins; and four brothers, Ray, Earl, Arthur and Robert Householter.

Mildred was baptized at the Roanoke Mennonite Church at the age of 13 and became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk prior to her marriage to Ernie.

Mildred and Ernie spent 25 winters in St. Cloud, Fla. After Ernie’s death, Mildred continued spending winters in Cocoa, Fla., with her daughter, Linda.

Mildred had many friends in Minonk and surrounding towns. She volunteered at Heritage Manor, delivered for Meals On Wheels and helped with the American Red Cross blood drives for 30 years. She had worked at the Minonk Pool Hall with Elsie Eden and numerous other restaurants as well as at Elegant Bridal Shop with Marge Decker.

She also enjoyed quilt making at church, Bible study and going out for coffee with friends. She also loved to shop.
