Lynn M. Peters, 63, Minonk, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Friday (July 29, 2011) at her residence.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Toluca, with the Rev. Barbara Ziah officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Lynn was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Streator, to Edward and Marie E. Kruger Gerjets. She married Jan R. Peters on May 23, 1970, in Toluca. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Tammy (Hans) Peterson, Bloomington; one son, Scott (Julie) Peters, Sugar Grove; one brother, Larry (Nancy) Gerjets, Toluca; six grandchildren, Christy (Shane) Goble, Seth Peterson, Annah Peterson, Rachael Peters, Kellie Peters and Audrey Peters; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly Ahna Heilman and Zachary Goble.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edward, Laverne and Jim Gerjets; and one sister, Maxine Combes.

She was a secretary at Ruff Brothers Elevator in Toluca and was previously a hairdresser at Lida Home, Minonk, and had worked at the Minonk News Dispatch.

Lynn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Card Club.
