DANA — Shirley Ann Overocker, 73, Dana, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 10, 2010) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. The Rev. Ivy Silas will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family graveside service and burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

She was born Oct. 25, 1936, in Long Point, a daughter of Ira Ralph and Maude Berge Leonard. She married Arnold Overocker on July 2, 1955, in Streator. He passed away Feb. 18, 1987.

Survivors include five daughters, Rebecca (Joe) Centeno, Dana; Denise (Bob) Lepper, Streator; Vicki Overocker, Dana; Jill Snyder, Minonk; and Penny (John) Fuller, Dana; two sons, Arnold (Jill) Overocker Jr., Rutland, and Brian (Jessica) Overocker, Dana; two sisters, Lila (Eugene) Klendworth, Dana, and Burdette Lake, Toluca; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Lisa; three brothers; and two sisters.

She was a member of the Dana and Minonk United Methodist Churches.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, and will be dearly missed.
