Mary Jane Osterman, 88 - January 29, 2006

 Mary Jane Osterman, 88, of 201 Locust St., Minonk, formerly of Meredosia, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 29, 2006) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minonk United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ivey Silas and the Rev. Don Riley will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Oakland Cemetery, Meredosia. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Mary Jane was born Oct. 22, 1917, at Meredosia, a daughter of the Rev. Fred and Mildred Yeakel Payne. She married Walter G. Osterman on Jan. 1, 1935, at Dana. He died Oct. 19, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet (Harold) Tjaden, Minonk; five grandchildren, Steve Riley, Hamilton; Paul Riley, Springfield; Amy (Joe) Quaerna, Madison,Wis.; Brad (Sylvia) Tjaden and Bruce (Lynn) Tjaden, both of Minonk; 11 great-grandchildren, Matt Riley, Josh Riley and Kaleb Riley; Madison Tjaden, Taylor Tjaden, Lauren Tjaden, Alivia Tjaden and Alaina Tjaden; and Riley Quaerna, Haley Quaerna and Tommy Quaerna; and one brother, James Payne, Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy A. Riley, on April 29, 1969; a granddaughter, Leanne Marie Tjaden, on Feb. 21, 1963; one brother; and one sister.

Mary Jane was a member of the United Methodist Church, Meredosia. She was employed by Capitol Records in Jacksonville.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting, and taught many her hobbies.
