Eric L. Moore, 16 - February 19, 2007

 DANA -- Eric L. Moore, 16, of Dana and Toluca, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday (Feb. 16, 2007) at OSF St. James Hospital Emergency Room in Pontiac.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will follow at Dana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 80 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Whitetail Deer Forever Foundation.

Eric was born May 30, 1990, in Normal, the son of Karl E. and Sheila Thorp Moore.

Surviving are his father Karl of Dana; his mother Sheila (Robert) Bernard of Toluca; two sisters, Sherri (Jeremy) Watkins of Dana, and Stephanie (Kevin Carrithers) Sechrest of Toluca; two stepsisters, Katy Bernard of Hennipen, and Nicole Bernard of Hollowayville; one step brother, Dale Bernard of Seatonville; his maternal grandfather, Clarence Thorp of Minonk; paternal grandfather, Larry (Betty) Moore of Dana; paternal grandmother, Linda (Fritz) Kasuske of Naple, Fla.; stepgrandparents, LaVerne (Ann) Bernard of Toluca; two nephews, Layton Sechrest and Ashton Watkins; one niece, Maleigha Carrithers; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alba Jaunita Thorp.

Eric was a junior at Fieldcrest High School, where he was a member of the golf team and the F.F.A. He was also a member of the Wenona Highlighters 4 H Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and raised rabbits. He loved Chevy cars and trucks and liked to four wheel; he liked all country music; and was a Nascar fan of the Earnhardts 3 and 8. He worked in maintenance at Riple Trucking Company in Toluca. His plans for the future were to go into law enforcement and be a policeman.
