William Edward Moline, 71 - March 09, 2011

William Edward “Mook” Moline, 71, Minonk, formerly of Wenona, died at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday (March 9, 2011) at his home.

His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon, with the Rev. Casey Taylor officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Military graveside rites by Lacon American Legion Post 593 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lacon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Judy Moline, P.O. Box 279, Toluca, IL 61369, for assistance with medical expenses. Arrangements are by Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon.

He was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Williamsfield, son of the late Milo and Susan (Elburg) Moline. He married Judith Kenney on Nov. 20, 1965, in Lacon; they later divorced but remained good friends. She survives.

He is also survived by four sons, William E. (Geri) Moline II, Minonk; and Cameron E. Moline, Jonas Moline and Jeff (Corrie) Moline, all of Toluca; and one daughter, Melody (Gary) Johnson, Gibbs, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Carson Moline, Billy Moline, Lillian Moline, Marshall Goff, Cassandra Graham, Clayton Johnson, Gabriel Combs and Cameron Moline Jr.; three brothers, Dick Moline, Henry; Pete (Julie) Moline, Lacon; and Jim (Pam) Moline, Casper, Wyo.; four sisters, Wanda Streitmatter, Sparland; Sue Morgan, Metamora; Linda Mooy, St. Louis; and Harriet (Tim) Cowell, Lacon; and many nieces and nephews.

He worked for Deneen River Co. in Lacon for 18 years and later worked for a local farmer in Wenona for several years. He also owned and operated Mook’s lawn mowing service.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 as a light truck driver at Fort Hood. He was a member of American Legion Post 593 of Lacon.

Bill loved bowling, collecting cookie jars, marbles and cookbooks. He had his own special chair at the auction barn in rural Lostant and was known as No. 44. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
