Paul Frederick Meierhofer, 79 - March 26, 2007

Paul Frederick Meierhofer, 79, rural Minonk, died Monday (March 26, 2007) at his residence.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Richard Olson and the Rev. Harry Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the memorial home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Paul was born in 1928 in Streator, the son of Frederick B. and Ninneta Eich Meierhofer. He married Mary Jean Eichelberger on Aug. 4, 1949. She died on Sept. 13, 1993.

Surviving are his children, Bonnie Manuel, Bloomington; and Larry (Evon) Meierhofer and Cindy (Jim "Hoople") Janssen, both of rural Minonk; and a brother, Donald H. Meierhofer, rural Minonk.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kurt F. (Melessa) Meierhofer, rural Minonk; Kristin (Troy) Meierhofer-Milashoski, Minonk; and Sara Janssen, Evanston; and two great-grandsons, Cam Milashoski and Auden Meierhofer.

Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church in Minonk.–;He had farmed all his life in the Minonk and Benson area, retiring in 1993. He also was co-owner of Meierhofer Brothers Trucking from 1955 to 1965.

In their spare time, Paul and Mary enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling and spending time with their grandchildren.
