Edith Ann Meierhofer, 85, Minonk, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Monday (Sept. 12, 2011) at her residence in Minonk.

Cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be at a later date. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1926, in rural Minonk, a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Timmerman Barth. She married Robert E. Meierhofer on Aug. 11, 1946, in Minonk. He passed away on Jan. 25, 2003.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Frank) Hamilton, Kewanee; two sons, Scott (Ruth Ann) Meierhofer, Minonk, and Leo Meierhofer, Grand Chain; one brother, Robert Barth, Metamora; two sisters, Irma (Fred) Baker and Evelyn Milashoski, both of Minonk; two grandchildren, Leigh Parker and Jake Meierhofer; and two great-grandchildren, Lia and Ethan Meierhofer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter, Peggy Meierhofer.

Edith was employed as a cashier at the Walmart in Pontiac and loved her many family and friends there.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk.
