His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. The Rev. Richard Olson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Young America Cemetery, Hume.

He was born June 30, 1931, in Hume, a son of Leonard C. and Frances V. Wright McMullen.

He married Nina Mae "Peggy" Emrick on Feb. 2, 1952, in Hume. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Tina Lynn (David) McMullen Rappuhn, Lake Villa; and Mari Ann (C.J.) McMullen Hinrichsen and Kathi Jo McMullen, both of Minonk; two sons, Russell Alan McMullen, Minonk, and Jon Leonard McMullen, Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl McMullen.

An Army veteran, Bill served his country during the Korean War.

Bill had worked as a comptroller for Mercy Hospital Chicago Province.

He attended First Baptist Church in Minonk. He was active with the Kiwanis Club and Jaycees in Elmhurst. He was also a longtime active member of Yorkfield Presbyterian Church.
