Lyle B. May, 91, of Minonk, IL passed away at 11:05a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009 at his residence.

He was born on September 24, 1917 in rural Gridley a son of Elmer and Tillie Henline May. He married Virginia Hinshaw on September 5, 1937 in Chenoa, IL. She passed away on August 4, 1963. Later he married Leora Bernice Harms on February 6, 1965 in Aurora, IL She passed away on January 4, 2006.

Surviving are his children, Lyle D. "Skip"(Lois) May ; Larry P. May both of Minonk;Roger B.(Claudette) May of Sao Paulo, Brazil; Pamela J.(Joseph) Fidis of Plano, IL; Herbert L. Hattner of Somonauk, IL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Lyle was self-employed and had his own milk route in the Minonk area. He also worked at Seal Master in Aurora.

Lyle was a Navy veteran serving his country during WWII.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Rev. Richard Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial with full military rites will be in Minonk Township Cemetery.
