John D. Lohr, 81, Minonk, died at 3:55 p.m. Thursday (July 6, 2006), at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
Hewas
born Oct. 27, 1924, in Minonk, the son of Mark and Marie AntonsLohr. He
married Edmona J. Ioerger on Feb. 2, 1947, in Minonk.
Survivingare
his wife, Edmona Lohr, Minonk; one son, John G. Lohr, Macomb;
twodaughters, Susan Salquist, Oxford, Mich., and Lisa (Frank)
Goropesek,Bloomington; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
and onebrother, Mark (Crystal) Lohr, Minonk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, JoAnn Lohr.
He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
John worked for United Parcel Service in Decatur and surrounding areas.
He was a member of American Legion Post 142 in Minonk.
Hisfuneral
will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home,Minonk, with
the Rev. Richard Olson officiating. Visitation will befrom 5 to 8 p.m.
Sunday, and for one hour prior to the service Monday,both at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Minonk Township Cemetery,where full
military services will be conducted by American Legion Post142.
