Mary Lorene Liner, 94, Minonk, died at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 3, 2011) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk, with Father Luke Poczworoski officiating. Cremation rites will follow Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Minonk. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Central Illinois. Calvert–Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Lorene was born Oct. 15, 1916, in Minonk, the daughter of Raphael and Margaret McKeon Loftus. She married Melvin E. Liner on May 21, 1947, in Champaign. He died Sept. 4, 1992.

Surviving are three children, twins, James M. Liner, Minonk and Janet M. (Frank) Senica, LaSalle; and Mary Ann Liner, East Peoria; a sister, Zelda G. Janssen, Minonk; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sherrill Loftus; and a sister, Lucile Murphy.

Lorene was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk, and the Altar and Rosary Society at the church.

She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Dramatic Club and had played on the Minonk Kitten Ball softball team.

Lorene and her husband owned and operated the Liner Coral Lounge for 28 years.
