Betty J. Land, 72, of Minonk, IL passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minonk.

She was born on May 21, 1946 in Streator, IL a daughter of Michael J. and Dorothea Koch Barth. She married David C. Land on May 21, 1967 in Minonk, IL. He passed away on January 12, 1999.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca(Mark) Messamore of Minonk; one son, Eric(Stacie) Land of Romney, West Virginia; two sisters, Connie(Ron) Carls; Mary Weers both of Flanagan; one brother, Michael(Janet) Barth of Benson; three grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Sabrina Messamore; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Virgil Weers.

Betty worked at insurance companies, factories and Heritage Manor Nursing Home as a cook in Minonk.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Pastor Ed Sinclair will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral services at the funeral home. Burial will in the Minonk Township Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements for the family.
