Clarence Gerhart Kettwich, 94, of Minonk, IL passed away at 10:35 pm on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke, IL.

He was born on June 27, 1914 in Minonk, IL a son of Henry and Phoebe Barth Kettwich. He married Elda L. Moritz on October 29, 1940 in Benson, IL. She passed away on February 11, 1984. He later married Lillian Harms in 1985 in Minonk, IL. She passed away in 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Lynn) Kettwich of Lake Villa, IL; Donald (Sharon) Kettwich of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Jeanne Kettwich of East Peoria; one sister, Ruth Timmerman of Minonk, IL; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Clarence farmed in the Minonk area for 50 years. After his retirement he enjoyed doing woodworking, tinkering in his shop, and bird hunting.

He was a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau and a past member of the Minonk Sportsmen's Club.

Clarence was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the start of the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Benson. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling the arrangements.
