Frieda G. Kettwich, 91, Minonk, passed away at 6 a.m. Monday (Nov. 7, 2011) at Heritage Health, Minonk. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. The Rev. Ray Barclay and Rev. Keith Kettwich will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was born April 6, 1920, in Linn Township, Woodford County, a daughter of Siede and Josephine Martens Huschen. She married Orville C. Kettwich on Sept. 11, 1941, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Benson. He passed away Dec. 17, 1975.
Surviving are one daughter, Suzanne (Ronald) Bruch, Granville; three children she raised after the death of their parents, Karen (Larry) Stotts, Minonk; Paul (Shelly) May, Bloomington; Marilyn Gubitz, Minonk; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one son, Allen.
Frieda worked in a delicatessen for many years and owned and operated K's Kitchen in Minonk. She also did cake decorating for many years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and was involved with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
