Obituary: Lillian R. Janssen, 92 - July 13, 2019
Lillian R. Janssen, 92, of Minonk, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Trenton Village Retirement in Trenton, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with arrangements.Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery in Rural Minonk, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Lillian was born on May 19, 1927 in Rutland, Illinois, a daughter to Frank and Josephine Mernitz Oldenburg. She married Dean E. Janssen on October 31, 1953 in St. Paul's United Church-Christ. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2002.

Surviving are her loving children, Thomas Janssen (Janice Coons) of Minonk, Bonita (James) Arentsen of Trenton and Linda (Frank) Styzek of Mt. Prospect; grandchildren, Todd (Angelina) Kobriger, Eric Janssen, Maggie (Adam) Gerstner, Frank (Jennifer) Styzek, Katie (Chris Behrns) Styzek, Michael Styzek and Mary Styzek; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Annabel, Harper, Jackson and Hadley.

She was preceded in death by, sisters, Esther Uphoff, Edith Driscoll, Ruth and Lucille Oldenburg and Leora Sullivan; brothers, Carl, Robert, Walter and Arthur.

Lillian graduated from Rutland High School and attended North Central College. She was a homemaker for many years and was employed as a corn sorter by Pfister Hybrid Corn Company in El Paso.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk. Lillian enjoyed going to casinos, traveling during the winter months with her husband and spending time with her family. She was a proud Illini fan.
