Voyatt O. Hill, 74 - December 18, 2005

Voyatt O. Hill, 74, of 718 N. Walnut St., Minonk, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 18, 2005) at his residence.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. The Rev. Steve Boze will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, rural Secor. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.

Voyatt was born June 23, 1931, at Trinity, Ala., a son of Lonnie L. and Bessie A. Shankle Hill. He married Marjorie J. Shepherd on March 6, 1951, at Corinth, Miss. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Eric O. Hill, Normal; Rickie D. (Sandra) Hill, Meadows; Sherri L. (Ray) Persic, Minonk; Vickie J. (Richard) Carpenter, Minonk; Melissa (Tim) Hovey, Minonk; Brenda J. (Kenneth) Schrader, Oswego; two sisters, Faye Morris, Dalton,Ga., and Royce Ann Bowling, Athens, Ala.; two brothers, Boyd (Linda) Hill, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Rayburn Hill, Trinity, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, one brother and one sister.

Voyatt was the owner and operator of Hill's Trucking in Minonk for many years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 627, Peoria.

Voyatt served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Minonk VFW.
