Anna M. Herman, 89 - November 29, 2009

Anna M. Kleen Herman, 89, of Minonk died at 4 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 29, 2009) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk, on her 68th wedding anniversary.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe officiating. Burial will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial home,  and a half hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Anna was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Minonk, the daughter of Garmer and Emma Ioerger Kleen. She married William H. “Bill” Herman Sr. on Nov. 29, 1941, in St. Louis Mo. He survives along with four children, Bill Herman Jr., Donna Herman, Linda Azbill and Betty (Vern) Barth, all of Minonk; one brother, Garmer “Baldy” (Alda) Kleen of Minonk; eight grandchildren, Trina (Scott) Springer, Tricia (Kyle) Steinbeck, Tawn (Soloman) Esponsa, Ken Nohren, Kraig (Becky) Nohren, Kasey Neisler, Tammy Weiland and Tracy (John) Atteberry; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Anna was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Minonk. She worked as the bookkeeper at Herman’s Body Shop in Minonk for 30 years. We’ll see you on the other side. Once again with a smile on your face and a twinkle in your eyes, and the smell of hot apple pie. Till then – we’ll miss you.
