Jill M. Helfrich, 57 - July 10, 2007

Jill M. Helfrich (nee Pierce), age 57 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday July 10, 2007, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Born July 21, 1949 in Pontiac, Jill is a daughter of Jack and Geraldine (Rabe) Pierce. She was a graduate of Metamora High School and attended Kankakee Community College and Governors State University, where she was a graduate of the First Class in each facility. Jill taught at Booth Central School in Wilmington for 32 years and also tutored in the district. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington and the Peotone American Legion Auxiliary. Jill was a mentor to new staff members at Booth Central School and in her free time she was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following her children in all their activities.

Survivors include her parents; loving husband Thomas; four children: Samantha, Forrest, Hayley and Kacie; two sisters: Jean (Greg) Oliver and Ginger (Stephen) Saliba both of Peotone; nieces and nephews: Matthew, Jackie and Bradley Oliver and Eddie, John and Andrew Saliva; two brothers-in-law: Dick (Jinnie) Helfrich of Ohio and Harry (Patricia) Helfrich of Peotone and one sister-in-law Paula Beverage of Maine, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Thursday July 12, 2007 between the hours of 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Friday July 13th from 9:00AM until time of funeral services 10:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Rev. David Lagos-Fonseca and Rev. Shirley Pulgar-Hughes from the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington will officiate and burial will be in Peotone Cemetery. Immediately Following graveside services, all friends and family are invited to join together for a luncheon at the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington at 1:00PM

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jill’s memory to the 3rd Grade Class at Booth Central School for their needs.
