William D. Hart, 85, of Palatine for one and a half years, formerly a lifelong resident of Minonk, died Friday (Jan. 11, 2008) in Palatine. He was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Alton.
Private family inurnment will be at a future date at the Minonk Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Minonk Methodist Church, Minonk, IL 61760 or the charity of one's choice.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Green Hart of Palatine; two daughters, Judy (late Ray) Perlberg of Palatine and Kristine (Rick) Diekman of Spring Grove; and two grandsons, Michael Perlberg and Matthew (Terri) Perlberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Adeline Davison Hart, and two brothers, Raymond Hart and Alan Hart.
William was a WWII Air Force veteran pilot who flew the B-26 Bomber. He was a member of the Minonk Methodist Church; the Minonk American Legion; and the Rob Morris Lodge 247 A.F. & A.M.\
After farming for many years, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he retired as postmaster.
