Ralph P. Harms, 86 - January 18, 2010

El Paso-Ralph P. Harms, 86, of El Paso, IL formerly of Rutland, IL passed away at 4:05 am on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in El Paso.

He was born on June 7, 1923 in Rutland, IL a son of Harm and Edna Proctor Harms. He married Kathryn A. Zulz on May 2, 1953 in Wenona, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Beth (Dan) Miller of El Paso, IL; Jeanne (Scott) Hudson of Bloomington, IL; three grandchildren, Miranda (Matt Baker) Miller; Alex Hudson; Mallory Hudson; one great granddaughter, Addison Baker; and two sisters, Myra Lane of Indianapolis, IN; and Wahneta (Carl) Hacker of Aurora, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Ralph worked at Commonwealth Edison for 36 years before his retirement in February of 1985.

An Army veteran, he served his country during WWII.

He was a member of the American Legion in Rutland, Masonic Lodge in Wenona, Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and Rutland Cemetery Board.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk, IL. Father Roger Corpus, OSB will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home and from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursday before the service. Burial with military rites will be in Rutland Cemetery.
