Obituary: Helen M. Guttilla, 93 - March 23, 2017
Helen M. "Tootsie" Guttilla, 93, of Minonk, and formerly of Streator, passed away Thursday, March 23, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Minonk.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. The Rev. Philip Halfacre will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator.

Pallbearers will be family members..

Born May 9, 1923, in Ransom, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Gahan) Nagle. She married James P. Guttilla on June 12, 1948, at St. Patrick's Church, Ransom. He preceded her in death Sept. 24, 2002..

She is survived by nieces, Marjorie (Gilbert) Bishop, of Charlotte, Mich., Beverly (Jim) Meyer, of Minonk, Sue Widman, of Ransom, and Mary (Larry) Neurohr, of Winter Haven, Fla.; nephews, Robert (Helen) Noble, of Carson, Calif., William (Norma) Noble, of Lansing, Mich., Tom (Lynn) Nagle, of Pontiac, and James (Vicky) Nagle Jr., of Pittsburgh, Pa..

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Lucile Putnam, Katherine Widman, Dorothy Ulmer, and Edna Rubenacker; a brother, James Nagle; and brothers-in-law, Charles Putnam and Charles Ulmer; a sister-in-law, Mary Nagle; and nephews, Gary Gundrum and Don Widman..

She attended Ransom Grade School and Seneca High School.She worked through the years at the Seneca shipyards. She also owned and operated the Broadway Tap, along with her husband, for over 30 years. She later worked at Flowers Plus for 25 years..

She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church. She and her husband were active members of the Streator Elks Club. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Auxiliaries..

She enjoyed playing cards and bridge with her friends. She also loved baking and will be sadly missed by her loving family and close friends..

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice..
