Simi Valley resident Arthur Greskoviak, 72, died April 1, 2011, at his home in Simi Valley.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Reardon Mortuary in Simi Valley.
Mr. Greskoviak was born July 18, 1938 in Minonk, Ill., a small town outside of Chicago. Arthur was an avid sports player during his high school years. His record of most points scored in one basketball game still stands in his home town. His love of sports continued as a fan throughout his lifetime. He was a funny and friendly man who was easy to approach and quick to start a discussion with anyone passing his way. He loved to golf and fish, and spent many summers in Mammoth Mountain while his children were growing up.
Mr. Greskoviak served in the United States Army during the early 1960s as a radio operator. He worked for many companies throughout his career, which culminated in his owning and operating a small landscaping company. Mr. Greskoviak spent more than 50 years as a resident of California. He was married for 42 years until divorcing in 2006.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kristen (Ralph) and Kimberly (Kevin), and grandchildren, Bret, Christopher, Nicholas, Hannah, and Carter.
