Dana -- Jerome A. "Jerry" Greskoviak, 77, of Dana passed away at 5:55 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 15, 2009) at Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan.

He was born June 25, 1932, in Minonk, a son of Joseph and Proxida Smolinski Greskoviak. He married Beverly C. Craig on June 13, 1959, at St. Patrick's Church in Minonk, and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She survives in Dana.

Also surviving are three sons, Craig (Kathy) Greskoviak of Dana; Mark (Susan) Greskoviak of Peoria; Brian Greskoviak of King City, Calif.; one daughter, Terri Uphoff of Eureka; one sister, Roselyn Renner of Streator; two brothers, Father Neri Greskoviak of Metamora and Art Greskoviak of Simi Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four infant siblings.

Jerry graduated from Minonk High School. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to1955 during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk, PNA of Streator, Moose Lodge in Bloomington, and the Minonk American Legion. He retired from RUS in Normal as a salesman.

When he was younger, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, and gardening. After his retirement, Jerry enjoyed camping and wintering in Florida with his wife and their snowbird friends. They also enjoyed dancing to big band music. Jerry liked to tool around in his golf cart and gather the local news. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

His Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minonk. Father Neri Greskoviak will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted at the church and cremation rites will be accorded.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren Kurt Uphoff, Kirby Uphoff, Todd Greskoviak and Troy Greskoviak, and family friends George Middleton and John Glowacki.
