Obituary

Marianne Fewell, 84, of Minonk, went to her heavenly home at 6:51 a.m. Thursday (July 13, 2017) in Bloomington.

She was born June 26, 1933, a daughter of Jerry and Mary McGough. She married Don Fewell on Aug. 4, 1956, in Rutland. He passed away July 14, 1995.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are one daughter, Cathy Weese, Minonk; one brother, John (Gloria) McGough, Rutland; one sister, Judy (Bruce) vonNordheim, Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

Marianne owned and operated Merry Dawn Kennel with her husband for 35 years, from 1960 to 1995. She loved and found joy in all animals. She especially loved horses. She rode from childhood until well into her 70s. She enjoyed trail riding. She and Don would travel to Missouri several times a year to attend the Big Piney Trail Ride. They met up with many friends and enjoyed camping and their horses.

Marianne spent the last 10 winters at Good Life RV Resort in Mesa, Ariz. She had many friends who were like family to her who will miss her. She was a people person and made friends wherever she went. She loved life and enjoyed being with her friends. Line dancing was another passion of hers. She had many friends from her line dancing family who will miss her on the dance floor.

Marianne was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, where a funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Franciscan friars will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, and one half hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Minonk.
