Ralph "Jim" Drummet, 69 - May 02, 2010

RUTLAND — Ralph "Jim" Drummet, 69, Peoria, formerly of Rutland, died at 7:19 p.m. Sunday (May 2, 2010) in OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

There will be a celebration of his life and a buffet dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Capponi’s Restaurant, Toluca. Hurst Funeral Home,  Wenona, is handling  arrangements. There will be no formal services.

Jim was born Aug. 26, 1940, in Streator, son of Ralph F. and Edna Cusac Drummet. He attended the University of Illinois until he returned to run the family farm in Rutland. He then worked in a variety of sales positions, followed by a retirement career at various golf courses in Central Illinois.

Mr. Drummet was an honorary member of the Starved Rock Yacht Club. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Illini fan. Jim’s other passions included golf and boating. He will always be remembered by his wearing of a cowboy hat and boots.

Jim is survived by one daughter, Trina (Josh) Croland, Peoria; one son, Jim Drummet, Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Zander; one sister, Janet (Jerry) Kemp, Minonk; four nieces, Karin Demaris, Geneva; Kris (Dave) Mayes, Springfield; Jeryl (Dave) Schoepke, Marshall, Mich.; and Katie Marshall, St. Louis, Mo.; and one nephew, Ed (Stephanie) Marshall, Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents.
