Lucile A. Cunningham, 86, Minonk, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2011) at Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa, where she had been a resident.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk. Her son, Father Lloyd Cunningham, SVD, PsyD, will officiate. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is handling arrangements. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Word Missionaries, 1901 Waukegan Road, Techny, or Meadows Mennonite Home Alzheimer’s Unit in Chenoa.
She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Minonk, a daughter of Laurence and Anna Noe Rossman. She married Kenneth Cunningham on Feb. 26, 1949, at St. Patrick’s in Minonk. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Father Lloyd Cunningham, SVD, PsyD, Techny; two daughters, Linda (Mitch) Napieralski, Gilbert, Ariz., and Ann (Ted) Groeneveld, Valdez, Alaska; three grandchildren, Morgan Napieralski, Kiefer Groeneveld and Shey Groeneveld; one sister, Esther Stewart, Eureka; two brothers, Wilb (Gertrude) Rossman, Minonk, and Ralph (Bernadette) Rossman, Normal; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Lucile worked as a cashier at Minonk State Bank for 47 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
