Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the United Presbyterian Church in Minonk. The Rev. Loretta Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

John was born December 24, 1926 in Streator a son of Earl and Dorothy Redmore Cunningham. He married Jean Nunn on July 30, 1955 in Minonk. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy (Bill) Guetschow of Bloomington; one son, Sam (Bonnie) Cunningham of Minonk; six grandchildren, Stephanie Guetschow, Stacy Guetschow, Christina Cunningham, Brad (Melissa) Grebner, Kyle (Jessi) Grebner, Julia Kistler, three great-grandchildren Braden Grebner, Sarie Grebner, and Clayton Grebner. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim.

John served his country by serving in the Army during World War II. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed being with family and friends. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company before retiring in 1988. Later he did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and the Minonk Food Pantry.
