Gerald M. Clegg, 82 - March 19, 2006

DANA - Gerald M. Clegg, age 82, of rural Dana, died at 8:53 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006, at BroMenn Hospital in Normal, Ill.

Mr. Clegg was born July 10, 1923, in Dana, the son of Howard P. and Blanche A. (Bradford) Clegg. He married Evelyn M. Lenz in October of 1950 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Streator. She died Nov. 21, 1992.

He is survived by two daughters, Janet (Dale Fletcher) Clegg of South St. Paul, Minn., and Diane (Norm) Crook of Lacon; a son, Scott (Kristin) Clegg of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Andrew and Stephanie Crook, Alison and Thomas Clegg; an aunt, Louise Bradford of Atlanta Ga.; a sister, Marjorie Gustafson of El Paso, Ill.; and his devoted companion, Betty W. Kjellstrom D.V.M. of Marseilles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Robert Clegg.

Mr. Clegg farmed his lifetime in the Dana area. He loved animals, riding his Harley's and scuba diving. He enjoyed swimming and working out at the Streator YMCA, and always had a smile for everyone.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Streator, the Masonic Lodge and La Salle County Farm Bureau. He attended Dana Grade School, was a graduate of Dana High School, Class of 1942, and attended Bradley University.

Pallbearers will be Norm and Andrew Crook, Dale Fletcher, Jim Gourley, John Bane and Don Wulzen.
