Obituary: Burnette A. Carls, 94 - March 20, 2017
Burnette A. Carls, 94, of Minonk, passed away at 2:02 p.m. Monday (March 20, 2017) at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

A private family service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Ed Sinclair officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk; Minonk Food Pantry; or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 W. Monroe St., Suite 1510, Chicago, IL 60661.

Burnette was born Nov. 23, 1922, in rural Dana, the daughter of Howard and Maggie Brantz Marshall. She married Glen L. Carls on July 24, 1971, in Minonk. He survives.

Also surviving are nephews, Ronald Marshall, Flanagan, and Dan (Jennie) Marshall, Minonk; nieces, Bonnie Martin, Flanagan; Ladonna Marshall, Flanagan; and Jayme (Arnold) Klapperich, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and dear friends, Carla (Bill) Williams, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Paul Marshall and Dale Marshall.

Burnette was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk.

She owned and operated Chicago Butcher's Red Fox in Minonk with her husband, Glen, until they retired in 1991.

She cherished her dogs, GiGi, and the late Ginger. She also loved her horses, Flash, King and Queen.
