Eric Michael Brown, 26, Minonk, passed away at 3:48 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 29, 2010) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Minonk. Monsignor Charles Beebe will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.  Thursday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home,  Minonk. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to an education fund for Evan Michael Brown in care of Minonk Community Bank.

He was born Nov. 15, 1983, in Streator, a son of Brian and Coleen Curley Brown.

Surviving are his parents, Brian and Coleen Brown, Minonk; two brothers, Brett Brown, Metamora, and Christopher Brown, Minonk; one son, Evan Michael Brown; maternal grandparents, Robert and Loretta Curley, Minonk; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willis and Darlene Brown; and his maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

Eric was employed as a machine operator for SMF in Minonk. His son, Evan, was the love of his life and he especially enjoyed his time spent with him and his family.

Eric was a 2002 graduate of Fieldcrest High School. He attended Illinois Central College where he studied graphic design. He had a love and appreciation for music and art.
