Sam Brooke, 31, Minonk, died Friday evening (Oct. 31, 2008) at his home.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Township Veterans Cemetery with full military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.

Sam was born March 21, 1977, in Lincoln, Neb., son of Charles O. and Betty Ruff Brooke. He received an associate's degree in diesel technology from Illinois Central College, East Peoria. He served in the Army National Guard.

He married Jennifer Rae Amigoni on Aug. 29, 1998, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with Rev. Swenson officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Rae Brooke, Minonk; his mother, Betty Brooke, Minonk; his three young children, Sabrina R., Levi J. and Carli O. Brooke, all at home; two brothers, Leland J. (Danielle) Brooke, Flanagan, and Gary Brooke, Lincoln, Neb.; and one sister, Julie M. Brooke, Papillion, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Charles O. Brooke.

Pallbearers will be Keith and Kevin Harms, Joseph Gaspardo, Jeremy Peiffer, Kevin Lindley and Devin Amigoni.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be used to care for his young children and their education.
